"The best way to make it through with hearts and wrists intact is to realize that two out of three ain't bad."
The line from I'm Like A Lawyer... (Me and You) is the best way to tell you my ideal perspective in life. When you think hard, some things are just meant to be that way, and to try to correct every single error simply won't do any good to you. I've always been the secret perfectionist. I aim high, and I want to reach what I aim for. I did not fail any subject or exam, so no, that's not the reason for this sudden awakening. I guess I just realized that perfection is simply unattainable. I mean, so what if you got a low score in Chem, or if you can't sing a note in tune, or if no matter how hard you try, you just can't keep up with complicated gymnastic steps? Who cares if you gained a few pounds over the long weekend or if you think your thighs are getting too big? So what if you can't get a volleyball over to the other side of the net, or if you can't get the ball into the basket? Who cares if you made the most stupid mistake in a quiz? So what if your grammar isn't perfect, or if you accidentally pronounce words so barok-ly? Who cares if you're inventing new words?? The point is, these things are already there. There's no use in getting all stressed and worried and depressed about things you cannot change anymore. We all make mistakes, we all have flaws and the fact that nothing is perfect just has to be accepted. I know it's too much of a cliche but as Patricia Evangelista says, it's a cliche because it's true. It all boils down to being content with what you have, and to realize that being imperfect isn't bad at all. The best way to keep your heart and your wrists intact is to realize that TWO OUT OF THREE ISN'T BAD. It isn't bad at all. To stay sane, know that it's okay to be wrong and it's okay to make mistakes. After all, everybody makes them. Why can't you?
