My blog turned a year old yesterday :) And I.. well, I turned a year older too.

I was having mixed emotions the whole day. There were moments when I felt so happy and special but there were also times during the day that I felt so.. blah. In general, though, it was a grrreat birthday :) Here are the highlights:

-Family's yearly tradition of gift-giving. Two of the gifts they got me were books about Greece, the country I've been dying to visit since ever. And they also got me a stress ball :))
-Kuya Dax made a banner that said "Happy birthday trixie!!! We soooooo freakin' love you!" It also had five random pictures of me, all edited by him since he's currently going through his Photoshop craze phase. Hahaha.
-Ms. Gino and I were greeted and sang to by IV-1 :)
-Aira gave me a pack of my favorite flavor of Nova plus a dog cellphone keychain. Seriously, I'm a sucker for small but sweet acts of thoughtfulness. Haha.
-Metch and Kim gave me a happy birthday note with a huge drawing of me.
-Ate Yen made a very, very, very cute birthday banner.
-Cake from Banapple :)

And here are the two BEST things that happened to me yesterday.

-------
I was getting a bit irked at the fact that some of my CLOSEST friends didn't even bother to try to see me the whole day. I mean, it was Palihan and all, and the whole batch was divided into different communities for most part of the day. But it was my birthday, and I was expecting my barkada to greet me when we all went back to school. But they didn't. So dismissal came and I still haven't seen most of them. I grabbed my things and started to get ready for the Mag's layout seminar which was held right after school. When I went inside the venue, 16 random batchmates/friends came to me and started giving me a flower each. I looked at Mels, Joy, Tin, Fe, Chex and Nicole and I understood. I swear, tears started welling up in my eyes :)) Attached on the flower stems were pieces of paper that had pictures of all my celebrity boyfriends (plus one non-celebrity :)) :)) :)) clap clap clap, good one :P)--Jason Mraz, Adam Sevani, Penn Badgley, Heath Ledger, you name it!--plus love quotes on the side of each photo =)) My heart was honestly swelling with happiness. HAHAHA :))

After the seminar, Mels and I went to Gate 7 and I apologized profusely to my sister, Alyssa, for being terribly late. When we got to the car, she asked me what the flowers were for and I told her all about my friends' supersweet idea of a gift. Then she asked how many flowers were there, and I said sixteen, supposedly. We counted them and figured there were only 15, and I said they must've made a mistake or something. Then Alyssa whips out a flower from her backpack and says, "Here's the 16th." :O

The note attached to the last flower said, "We love you till the flowers die... Happy birthday!"

And the best part of it?

The sixteen flowers were made of plastic :)

And I realized after a while that the happiness I felt when I received the flowers from fifteen of "my boyfriends" was no match to what I felt when I got that last flower from seven of my best-est friends.

-------
When my family and I got home from Banapple at around 9:00, I was too sleepy to notice that the house was unusually dark. I just heard Papa bickering and asking the ate's why they turned all the lights out. So I went in and started heading for the stairs, when the lights were turned on and I found myself being sprinkled with colorful foil confetti. Screaming and smiling at me were four of my closest cousins.

Can I say sweet or what? :)

-------
Happy birthday to my cousin Tippy who turns 14 today! :)
